Twitter, Now with More Usefulness
Interesting little article over on CNN today talking about how the medical industry has begun using Twitter to break that often painful waiting room communication barrier. This is probably the first big ‘Ah Ha!’ moment I’ve seen in the recent Twitter phenomenon. We’ve all been there, we’ve all sat in that waiting room, anxious, in an almost panic state, waiting for some kind of news relating to a friend or loved ones status under the knife. Imagine refreshing the app on your phone and discovering, “Hey, its just a [insert relatively small complication compared to major life-threatening problem]. Thank goodness!”
So is this the first in a new wave of big break-through’s in the usage of Twitter? If so, I like the looks of things. Maybe someday I can bring my phone with me and get realtime updates on a surgery literally happening to me without having to decipher any ‘OR’ jargon. Whew!
